A Thorned Rose

Many, many moons ago, when I was a much younger fae, I congregated in very different corners of the faenet. And in these far-away lands, they called me R0SE.

I have always had a love affair with roses, and collect pretty much anything rose related. My most favourite is the Walt Disney Classics Collection Enchanted Rose from Beauty and the Beast.

Though you cannot have a rose-bush without its thorns (and I can be quite thorny), they are to me the most beautiful of flora (I have other favourites, yet roses come first).

When it was announced the Fallen Gods sim at Fantasy Faire was to be called The Rose, I knew something special was coming. Alia is known for pulling out all the stops, especially at Fantasy Faire. This year I was able to grab the Exclusive Jail n’ Bail skins. And while I was not able to bid on the collectible egg, I did receive the Gotya (gacha) hat from a friend.

I also tried to drag a rose-bush home, though their roots went deep. However, I may be able to convince one to come home with me when the Faire is over. Stay tuned.

Fantasy Faire Davina Dress

I was planning on writing a post for every day of the Faire, but that pesky thing known as RL has made that impossible. Ah well.

I haven’t made many purchases so far (saving for whatever awesomeness Alia of Fallen Gods is putting out), however, I just HAD to get the dress with my name on it from Moonlitecat Creations.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Davina Dress.

It is sparkley, the wings are webby, and it comes in a spider-less version (thank you Moon!)

Sn@tch It

There are times when I venture out into the greater SL world, and there are some of those times I pretend I’m human (or ish). I can’t hide my ears all the time, you know.

Anyway, there is one place in particular I like to go when wandering away from my little faeryland: Sn@tch. Sn@tch was the first store I was introduced to in Second Life, and it’s one of the few still going strong. Sn@tch is not just a store, it’s an experience. At any given time you will find people milling about. Whether it be shopping, rioting, waiting for your letter to come up on the lucky boards, or fishing for the awesome outfit Ivey threw in the pool.

Which is what I was doing yesterday.  Some may get lucky and find all the pieces in one trip, but for me it takes several. It’s been a very, very long time since I hung out, not talking or doing much of anything, but casting a line and waiting for that one elusive piece of clothing to pop up. I use the 7seas Pro Fishing Pole, invisible and without animations. I use the visible pole when a Petite, mostly for the giggle factor of a huge fishing pole attached to an itty bitty faery.

And if you’re missing a piece (or several), or just have extras to give away, shout out in chat. Someone usually has what you’re missing or need. (Disclaimer: The Sn@tch group costs $L300 to join, but is so very worth it.)

So if you want a truly unique SL experience, go get your Sn@tch. We’ll be waiting for you, poles in hand. Sn@tch City

Think I’ll nap right here. Wake me when I get all the pieces of the outfit.

Seven Years of Second Life

Rezdays are funny. We’re celebrating being “born” in a virtual world. Then again, it is a whole other life, only online, so it’s right we acknowledge our births into this other world.

I try to get myself something (usually a Fallen Gods Skin), and I know I’ve been gifted  other things in the past, yet what two people did for me yesterday was very special. I’ve been primarily wearing Alia’s Eden shape, and yesterday went and bought the Maitreya Lara mesh body.

The huds, alphas, layers etc. are definitely a learning curve, but I’m getting the hang of it, quicker than I could have hoped for. I absolutely love it.

Thank you to everyone who has made this journey of mine so wonderful. I hope to be around seven more years, and longer if possible.

Sidera Psy Galaxy

I have this habit of when I get a new skin/outfit/hair etc., I put together an ensemble and post the pic on my fb. I think I need to showcase some of them here if I’m going to try this whole blogging thing.

I’ll be writing a Rezday post later, and the reason I bring that up is because this was my 7th Rezday present to myself. I have been a fan of Fallen Gods skins for many, many years now, and try to get at least one every rezday/rl birthday, or any other chance I am able.

This skin was a participation gift for the 2015 God/dess contest, brought out of retirement for a very worthy cause. I will link to Alia’s post, which explains better than I.

Ohai

There has been quite a bit going on lately, but I thought I’d start with the biggest change for me: I switched out my cottage for a smaller forested skybox.

Sadly my OCD will not allow me to share the picture of the outside of the cottage, as I never did get a photo of its final layout .>.<

Instead, here is the inside of the skybox as I have it (there is a post about the faerie chime, among other things, forthcoming).

A few may recognize the forest as part of Roxy’s (Love Everlasting PlantPets) side hunt for Twisted Infinity, and the clock is Gwen’s (Sweet Revolutions) main gift. The Dark Forest and the Dark Library skyboxes were gifts from that side hunt (IF you survived the sharks).

Bonus: Where’s Vina?

P.S. If you’re wondering why thornedrose, well, you’re going to have to keep wondering. For now. ^.~
